How to Unlock Spells in Moonlight Peaks
Keep moving the main story until Luna sends the Come Visit! letter, then finish The Magic of Crops. Sabrina repairs the wand, Luna teaches Aquaflux I, and the mana bar shows up after the second Moonfruit watering step.
The usual mistake here is assuming spells unlock the moment you find the magic shop. They do not. The route that gets them working starts when Luna sends the Come Visit! mail. That kicks off The Magic of Crops, which is the quest that actually turns spellcasting on.
At the start of the quest, the wand is broken, so the repair step is not optional. Take it to Sabrina at Webb of Wonders, get it fixed, and go back to Luna. She teaches Aquaflux I so you can water the magical crops tied to the quest. After that first cast, you still are not done. You have to wait for the next watering step and cast Aquaflux on the Moonfruit again before the unlock is fully finished.
The mana UI is the cleanest sign that everything worked. Once the follow-up cutscene ends, blue star icons appear below your energy bar. If those stars still are not there, you are still in the middle of The Magic of Crops and the unlock is not finished yet.
